About

It’s a party! This open air celebration of diverse authors and stories features animal balloons, cotton candy and lots of books for sale. Wander through Brampton’s historic downtown farmer’s market and meet us at the Garden Square Mainstage for lively readings, interactive storytelling, music, and a comic arts battle. This event is sure to provide fun for the whole family, featuring book signings with authors Danielle Daniel, Ruth Ohi, Debbie Ridpath Ohi and Kevin Sylvester.

Organizer

The FOLD Foundation

The FOLD Foundation launched the Festival of Literary Diversity in May 2016 becoming Canada's first festival for diverse authors and storytellers. While the first three festivals held in downtown Brampton each spring included events for adults and children, in 2019, the FOLD announced plans for the first FOLD Kids Bookfest – a festival celebrating amazing children’s authors, performers and storytellers. All FOLD events include an on-site bookseller, where you can explore amazing stories and have book's customized at our author book signings. The specific schedule of events will come out in September and will be posted here and on the FOLD website.
