Our fascination with faces, people in their own spaces, and the landscapes that surround us are universal themes across cultures and time. For instance, we don’t do much in the way of cave drawings these days, but we do have street artists. Today we can connect our love of selfies to the archetypical story of Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection. And who doesn’t remember the wicked queen’s, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is fairest of them all?” So today we have some artifacts of photography from the last two centuries, some books showing bodies of work of well-known photographers, samples from my Analogue Meets Digital World archival collection, and some basic tools we can use to experiment with what makes your shots into something spectacular. You, too, can discover the passion behind the shutter – ‘Say cheese!’

This event is free.

Studio By Design

I am a lifelong observer of people in their natural settings and habitats. Be it landscapes of the heart, my candid portraiture, or finding the uncommon beauty in our everyday landscapes, I cannot imagine being without a camera. Studio By Design is my business name to show my art work and photography, whether in galleries, at special events, or for art shows. Over the years, I have built five darkrooms and shot copious rolls of Kodachrome 64 and B&W film. "Analogue Meets Digital" includes my Limited Edition of Giclee Prints as well as the digital and analogue captures that I have had rendered on aluminum, acrylic, and canvas. I belong to VAB, Beaux Arts Gallery, HA Gallery, MAC, and VAM.
