About

The Foraging for Natural Art Making Materials & Open Studio event is an outdoor workshop facilitated by Julia Tribe, the lead artist in Willow Springs' 'Donning Nature" art project. Participants will venture out into the woods and fields to find potential art making materials, learning to forage ethically. Participants will then have the opportunity to move from station to station to try working with the different materials (twigs, moss, grasses, bull rushes, clay, birch bark, etc) and learn techniques for working with the materials. Participants can also share their knowledge and skills re working with these materials. People will be encouraged to collaborate with each other to try to create wearable eco art work.

All tools and supplies will be provided. This is an intergenerational workshop. Individuals and families are invited to attend.

Refreshments will be served.

Organizer

Willow Springs Creative Centre

Willow Springs Creative Centre is a dynamic not-for-profit with a mission 'to promote growth through creative expression and community development'. We do this through art, therapeutic gardening and food programming, services and training. The Foraging for Art Making Material & Open Studio workshop is part of our 2 year long 'Donning Nature' art project that is bringing together local makers to forage for and create wearable eco art using local, natural materials.
