About
Arbor Gallery and the Ottawa-area fibre arts collective Fibre 15 invite the public to collaborate on a temporary fibre art installation on the grounds of the Gallery! In Summer 2024, Fibre 15 mounted the exhibition "Impermanence" in the woods surrounding the Arbor Gallery: 29 artworks were installed in trees, on boulders, in the garden and elsewhere, with the intention of observing how nature transformed the pieces over time. This exhibition ends in early Autumn, but the Fabric Twine Art Installation will continue the spirit of the exhibition with a new piece that invites public contribution. On September 21, members of Fibre 15 will lead a demonstration on making fabric twine and begin a sculptural piece that the public can contribute to - using their own fabric twine - over time. The more contributions, the more multi-faceted and colourful the artwork becomes!
