About
Come join us at Riversdale Chinatown's inaugural Mid-Autumn Celebration on October 4 that brings together art, history, and community under the glow of the full moon! Visitors can take part in art crafts, lantern making, mahjong play, while enjoying archival and cultural showcases. The evening also features Chinatown and Moon Chats, sharing stories of Saskatoon’s Chinatown history, followed by mooncakes, tea, and treats around shared tables as people gather to admire the night sky and chat! Archival and mural exhibits will highlight local heritage and diaspora identity, ensuring a festive, inclusive atmosphere that blends creativity, tradition, and connection.
Organizer
Riversdale Chinatown
Riversdale Chinatown is a grassroots initiative dedicated to reimagining Saskatoon’s Chinatown as a vibrant cultural hub. Guided by public art, cultural programming, and archival preservation, our team of young artists, planners, and community members works year-round to celebrate Chinatown’s legacy and foster inclusive connections across cultures. Through events, exhibits, and storytelling, we aim to preserve history while creating new traditions that bring people together in Riversdale.
