About

Slow down and take a walking tour of outdoor art on the UBC campus. Works in the Outdoor Art Collection are situated across the Vancouver campus and together, give voice to stories about the history of campus, and are part of an ever-evolving narrative about art, space and place.

Self Guided Tours:

For a self-guided tour of the Outdoor Art Collection, download a copy of our Outdoor Art guide and qeqən: Musqueam House Posts book. Suggested routes take about 20 minutes to walk, while a full tour of all the artworks takes about 3 hours.

Book a Guided Tour:

Guided tours can be booked groups of ten people or more. Tours are conversational, participation-driven and can be adapted for a wide range of ages and groups. Tours can be booked Tuesday-Friday between 10:30 am and 4 pm as weather permits.

All of the artworks in the Outdoor Art Collection are situated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓-speaking xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people; the gallery encourages viewers to reflect on this relationship.

These tours are a highlight of our 8th annual UBC ARTIVISIM Festival. Check out our line up of exciting events as they are announced and continuing through October 13, 2024.

Organizer

UBC Arts & Culture District

This event is presented as part of the UBC Arts & Culture District's 8th annual ARTIVISM Festival. This year the theme of the festival as articulated by student Artistic Director Jesse Metros is "Heart On Fire" which highlights love as a revolutionary force. This year’s festival celebrates existing cultures of care, and invites new realities centered on compassion. Through radically creative spaces and marginalized artistic expressions, we invite you to ignite love towards liberation & set oppressive systems ablaze.

Produced by UBC Arts and Culture District with 2024 festival Artistic Director Jesse Medros, in partnership with the Exposure UBC student club team, this annual festival highlights stories of resilience and both community and student activist art that challenges dominant narratives through live performances, poetry, music and more. There is something for everyone; the events include a wide range of in-person activities.
