About

View the beauty of the Norwegian Arctic Archipelago of Svalbard.

The Norwegian arctic archipelago of Svalbard has more than 2,000 glaciers which provide habitat to hundreds of polar bears. In May, Paul Gains spent nine days aboard a Swedish coast guard vessel sailing around Svalbard’s sea ice looking for them.

Now he would like to share this extraordinary experience with an audience.

Life is harsh in the arctic and polar bears, walruses, and arctic foxes must adapt. Using dozens of photographs, Paul will tell tales of life above 78° North.

Paul Gains has traveled the world writing about and photographing its wildlife. Now in his 30th year as a full time freelance journalist, he counts Svalbard as his most gratifying expedition.

Registration is required.
