Join Heritage Abbotsford Society Program Manager Natalia Deros for a webinar on how to create a community history project through placemaking. The project Stories to Spaces: Local Community Places was launched in the Summer of 2020 as a way for residents of Abbotsford to celebrate the places in the community that is important to them, their families, and communities. Half storytelling project and half place-based learning, the aim is to connect and root individuals within their communities, and to create belonging and inclusion for all.

Heritage Abbotsford Society

Heritage Abbotsford Society (formerly the MSA Museum Society) has been working to "collect, record, preserve and share the stories of Abbotsford" since its inception in 1969. The HAS operates the were used to maintain the Trethewey House Heritage Site and the activities that take place there, including the promotion and facilitation of educational and public events, such as historic walking tours, immersive educational experiences for school aged students, interpretive tours of the heritage site, a Canada 150 exhibit and associated interpretive tours, an Old Fashioned Christmas open house and display, and the launch of a new augmented reality app to celebrate local heritage.

Stories to Spaces: Local Community Places was launched in the Summer of 2020 as an interactive community history project with the aim of creating a sense of belonging for all within the community.
