About

Founded in October, 1976, The Winnipeg Early Music Society was formed as an organization where enthusiasts of the medieval, renaissance and baroque periods of music might come together to discover and promote the music of these periods, to provide performance opportunities, and to acquire new knowledge about it through workshops, concerts and master classes. They see themselves as “ambassadors” of this vital and fascinating music and love to share their passion for it, to showcase the beautiful simplicity of the melodies and historically fascinating stories and words behind the music.

For Culture Days 2021, they will present several ensembles, both instrumental and vocal, playing this listenable, friendly music in the picturesque Dalnavert Museum. A new group will take the stage approximately every fifteen minutes, and you will be treated to recorder consorts, harpsichord, strings and more.

Registration for this event is now FULL. Thank you for your interest!
