About

Spare Room is a safe and inclusive studio space for artists in Barrie and Simcoe County to gather and foster artistic collaboration within the local art community. Spare Room hosts "First Fridays" throughout the year, a series of free talks/workshops as a part of our visual artist development series.

This time on a Thursday, join the City of Barrie's Public Art Coordinator Carol-Ann Ryan as she discusses the development of Barrie’s public art program and the vision behind Seeds to Sow. Opening to the public on September 28, 2024 Seeds to Sow is a temporary exhibition of public art featuring six artists who have created new works drawing inspiration from Barrie’s local ecologies, history, and stories. The exhibition will change our landscape for six weeks, closing on November 8, 2024.
