About

Igor Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale is a dark Faustian fable about a deserting soldier and the Devil who eventually possesses his soul. The story is based on an old Russian folktale, but the music with its elements of jazz and tango rhythms makes it a piece for all cultures and times.

Performed by the York Chamber Ensemble. Narration by Theatre Aurora.
