About
Our Community Spirit mural is a public painting project that will bring together the community of Quesnel to create a unique mosaic mural. Instead of having a workshop setting this year, in order to follow social distancing guidelines, we will have individual painting kits that can be picked up at the gallery, then taken home to paint and returned to the gallery. Each kit will contain a mosaic tile, 2 colours of paint, a paintbrush and an instruction sheet.
The kits were made available August 2nd and are to be returned to the gallery by August 31st. All of the mosaic tiles will then be installed on the mural. The background of the mural will be created and installed during September with the grand unveiling at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 26th. The unveiling event is our contribution to Culture Days this year. There will be a very small gathering in person for the unveiling with Facebook Live video being used for the community to take part in. Video will also be used to upload to various websites within the community to view in the future.

Organizer
Quesnel Art Gallery Society
The purposes of the Society are:
To support and promote local artists;
To support art(s) as an essential part of the human experience;
To operate a facility that enables us to facilitate said support.
ABOUT THE GALLERY:
What started out as a small, volunteer-driven grassroots group has evolved over five decades to become one of the finest showcases of locally-grown Cariboo artistic talent in BC. Astoundingly, and to the surprise of many of its patrons, the Quesnel Art Gallery is still run completely on volunteer help. Volunteers drive every aspect of the gallery, from raising funds, to working with artists, to curating shows and staffing the gallery.
