About

NATURE ART EVENT: This event is for all the artists and want-to-be artists, of any age, loving Nature. Every Wednesday from 4 pm to 5:15 pm we meet to paint/draw/sketch NATURE: flowers, trees, birds, water and everything we can see in the park (or in our imagination). Classes will start on Wednesday Sept 30 and run as long as the weather allows us to do. No class on heavy rain day. We hope to continue our Art Wednesdays in 2021.

You will learn how to choose your subject (including roses), how to design your art piece and how to draw/paint/sketch. Basic paint/draw techniques and colour mixing and application will be provided.

No previous experience is required, everyone is welcome to participate. No pre-registration is required, but during COVID we will restrict the event to the first 25 people.

What do you need:

-heavy grade paper or canvas (recycle if you can, use Wastewise to get your stuff)

-set of paints (acrylic, watercolour, quash-your choice. Dollar Store/Walmart stuff is great for this class) or pencils (make sure to have hard and soft pencils, add a colour one or two)

-black markers for stain glass effect (if you like it)

-eraser, water for your paints, something to put the paints on, a piece of paper towel, something to keep your canvas/paper on (a book?)

-a chair and an umbrella (just in case). Space under the roof is very limited. Bring a sweater.

NOTE: No preregistration is required. Registration: at the Dominion Park gazebo before or at 4 pm. Mandatory a 2 m distance from each other during COVID is required, but there is a lot of room in the Park.

Cost: The events are free to participate. Donations will be accepted in person or at [email protected] to purchase art sets for seniors.
