FASM Studio Tour 2024
Donalou Langdon, Bev Vinski, Trish Miller
Join us on the weekend of September 28th and 29th for the FASM Studio Tour, where art lovers can meet and explore the work of talented local artists. Discover a variety of artistic styles and mediums at different studio locations across Milton. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the artists you can visit:
Donalou Langdon
I have been dabbling in art for years, and it wasn't until my friends started encouraging me that I began producing work for the public. In the past, I have worked on original designs on silk scarves and tiny watercolors inside a watch face. I completed art courses at Sheridan College and continue improving by taking workshops and being influenced by artists such as Gordon Mackenzie, Tiina Price, and David McEown, among others. My passion for nature is reflected in paintings inspired by cottage country around Baptist Lake and its surrounding areas. Educated at Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Calgary, and the University of Guelph, I got back into painting more seriously after a career as an educator. “Watercolor painting allows one to preserve beautiful moments in time, whether past or present, allowing others to enjoy the color of nature and its simple beauty."
Beverly Vinski
Bev Vinski is a Milton artist inspired by nature, who thrives in the creative realm of color, line, and texture. Creating and making have always been a part of her life, and these pursuits bring her peace, clarity, and satisfaction. Bev has only recently begun to share her work beyond her inner circle. The impetus was charity, and the process to public engagement was enabled by the support and encouragement of others. Proceeds from the sale of all of Bev’s art go to local charities, allowing her to contribute to organizations that do so much for the community. Bev has created unique mono-prints using acrylic paint, mark-making tools, artifacts, and natural plant material. These one-of-a-kind prints were hand-pulled and further developed with mixed media. The finished art ranges from 1”x3” mounted on wood to matted prints in 11”x14” frames. Bev’s art is her way of sharing pieces of her heart.
Trisha Miller
Trisha Miller is an artist from the Mississauga area who practices in Mixed Media and Encaustic painting. She incorporates a variety of mediums and textures to bring interest to each piece, drawing much of her inspiration from her travels. A curious spirit, Trish is fascinated by our planet, diverse cultures, and the connections between us all. While abroad, she collects artistic treasures—whether it's a napkin from a beloved restaurant or a pebble from a beach—to add 3D elements and textures to her work, sealing memories into each piece. Encaustic art opened new doors in her creative process, and she now offers Encaustic classes, continuously learning from the fresh perspectives of her students. Trish’s mission is to cultivate spaces for creativity and help bring more art into the world.
