About

When it comes to trios with piano, one usually thinks about the vast repertoire dedicated to violin, cello, and piano. It is much less common to see the clarinet, the bassoon, and the piano united for a chamber music performance. In this program, Dominic Desautels, Zsófia Stefan and Jean-Luc Therrien present Beethoven's own trio arrangement of his Septet Op. 20, followed by Glinka's Trio Pathétique, a treasure of the romantic repertoire, which he brilliantly composed for this unusual yet effervescent ensemble formation.

The Free Concert Series in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre, presented by TD Bank Group, brings artists from around the world to share their talent and passion in one of Toronto's most breathtaking and intimate spaces. The series features nearly 70 concerts from September to May and includes artists from across genres including instrumental, vocal, jazz and dance performances.

Pre-registration is not required. Attendance is first-come-first-served. Doors to the concert open at 11:30am.
