About
Presented in celebration of Ontario Culture Days 2025.
The Contemporary Textile Studio Cooperative will host two special one-hour tutorials, “Introduction to Drop Spinning,” by textile artist and studio member, Timothy Manalo. If you like to knit, crochet, or simply want to know how raw fibre is transformed into workable yarn, you will enjoy this tutorial and receive a yarn sample to take home and use for your own handmade creation. No experience necessary, RSVP from 12-1pm or 1-2pm.

Organizer
Contemporary Textile Studio Co-op
The Contemporary Textile Studio is a member-based, registered Cooperative dedicated to textile arts, craft and design through education, innovation and research. We offer year-round textile based workshops, bringing in specialized instructors from both Canada and globally, with a mandate to educate and collaborate on sustainable textile practices. Our free drop-in activities for Ontario Culture Days will offer a "mini version" of the types of workshops we offer, as well as an opportunity to see what it is like inside of a working 1200 square foot studio, meet some our members, and explore what we have to offer.
