About the Author

Kristi White is an author and member of the Oneida Nation of the Thames. Her focus is on Indigenous language and culture revitalization, and an awakening in boys' literacy.

Kristi White a proud Haudnosaunee woman. As a mother and grandmother, Kristi has spent many years guiding the establishment and implementation of programs for families and children based around healthy living, healthy relationships, literacy and cultural appropriate content and has worked alongside and consulted with numerous agency's across Canada. Kristi is a children's Author who has a 5 book series out that is centre focused on indigenous children especially boys and literacy. Kristi creates a story with books that open the hearts and minds of children from all walks of life, inspiring them to read deeper, search further, and explore their own creative gifts. Taking inspiration from Indigenous cultures, she focus on themes that encourage independence of spirit, enthusiasm for learning, and acceptance of other languages and cultures traditions. This mama bear is also a family and disability activist, co-founder of Hoops for Hope, board member and Indigenous program coordinator for Voice of Men 360 and a proud International Woman's Day Award recipient (2022). Kristi has travelled across turtle Island with her family who each have their own unique diversity issues with their stories and teachings. She and her family are very culturally and socially active in their communities and participate in many events and ceremonies.
