About

BC Culture Days is administered through the Society to Bridge Arts and Community (Bridge Society), a registered charitable organization that has a mandate to promote awareness of arts and culture by establishing bridges between the general public, the private sector, arts organizations, and individual artists. Bridge Society staff work together with a volunteer provincial task force, municipalities, and numerous community arts and cultural organizations to coordinate plans for the annual Culture Days celebrations in British Columbia.

Each year, up to ten emerging artists from across the province are selected to participate in the BC Culture Days Ambassador Program. They are engaged to present an activity during Culture Days and act as a spokesperson for Culture Days in their community, creating valuable connections and opportunities for collaboration. The program also matches each ambassador with an established artist mentor for a period of 3-6 months to help further their professional development.

The Bridge Society is governed by an elected board of directors, including:

BC Culture Days acknowledges that it carries out its work on the land of Indigenous nations throughout British Columbia. We are grateful for the continuing relationships with Indigenous people in B.C. that develop through our work together. We acknowledge and raise our hands to the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, on whose unceded and ancestral lands we operate our main offices.
