The Town of Tecumseh and the Tecumseh Area Historical Society are happy to host Culture Days Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the TAHS site at 12350 Tecumseh Road East from 10:00 AM-3:00PM.

This year’s offerings include a guided walkthrough of the Heritage Centre led by knowledgeable volunteers (questions encouraged!); a Crochet demonstration and circle, where participants can try their hand at a small take home project led by Marilyn Prior; an introduction and a take home hands-on creation using Ink and Rubbing Alcohol on 4” x 4” ceramic tiles, offered by Alcohol Ink Artist Marian Drouillard; take an interactive walkthrough of an Indigenous Garden (taste for yourself), and learn about how Quill Baskets facilitated by Ojibway Artist Phylmarie Fëss.

And to add the fun and culture of the day are 3 different Musical Presentations by local student musicians starting at from 11:30AM with Emerson Lobzun-Howe and from Noon-3:00PM; Carson Janik, vocals and acoustic guitar; Cymbolism rock band; and the Twelve Tones rock band round out the entertainment.

In keeping with the spirit of Culture Days, the event is free to attend, and volunteers lead the activities; no charge for the take-home projects. All ages are welcome as this is a family friendly experience sure to bring a smile to many faces!

Refreshments and hot dogs are available - donation is suggested for popcorn.

The Town of Tecumseh and Tecumseh Area Historical Society, together with members of the Cultural and Arts Advisory Committee, are committed in joining forces to celebrate the local heritage, culture and arts found in the community of Tecumseh. The Town has an arts and culture presence that deserves recognition, and Culture Days will grow to include more local talent in as many genres as possible.
