About

Join us Sunday, September 29th, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mohawk Park to celebrate the completion of the Greenwich Mohawk Brownfield remediation project and future development of the Mohawk Lake District. In partnership with Brantford Food Bank, and part of the City’s Culture Days, the Mohawk Lake District Celebration is a journey through time as we commemorate the history of the Greenwich Mohawk Brownfield site with live music, and period actors! This can’t miss celebration will also include:

• Complimentary pizza, cookies and water

• Classic and antique cars, tank, fire truck and Cockshutt Model 30 tractor display

• FREE Culture Days giveaways

• Musical performance by Brantford’s own Brownfield band

• City Council members and local champion guest speakers

• A glimpse at Mohawk Lake District development plans

Organizer

City of Brantford

Our goal is to create an area that is an exciting place for people to visit, explore and celebrate festivals and events. The City of Brantford's Mohawk Lake District is located in the southeast part of Brantford and includes Mohawk Park, Mohawk Canal, and the 50-acre property that was home to the former Massey Ferguson and Cockshutt Plow farm equipment factories.

The Mohawk Lake District is a unique area with a lot of history. We want to bring new activities and land uses to this area. We are developing a plan that will help guide future decisions about the types of uses you want to see in the District.
