About

Join us for a special edition of Accessible Art located within CBC's Studio 700.

Accessible Art is an art therapy workshop produced & created by artist Stephanie Limage for children and youth who live with complex medical, physical and developmental needs. This workshop is ideal for children who have conditions affecting physical, motor or sensory development or have acquired a brain injury, prenatal exposure to alcohol or other drugs, cerebral palsy, or autism. The unique nature and complexity of their needs may make it difficult to find all the support they need at home or in their community which is where art can play a vital role in development.

During the workshop participants will have the opportunity to produce an individualized self-curated assisted collaborative art piece with the support of the workshop producer and volunteer artists! Participants and caregivers may also contribute to a collaborative art piece which will be painted live by workshop producer and artist Stephanie Limage. The collaborative piece will be donated a week after the event to a local, not for profit organization.

Participants may take their personal artwork home after the event or may choose to have the option to have their artwork included in the Opus Art Supplies "Our Kids Art Exhibition" from October 1st - 14th, 2019. The artwork will be displayed at Opus Art Supplies Downtown Store (in the Harbour Centre) for the first two weeks of October, the exhibition is to benefit the BC Children's Hospital creative program. Participants who choose to exhibit their artwork in the Opus Art Supplies exhibition are able to pick up their artwork after October 14th, 2019.

All materials and paints are provided thanks to the generosity of Opus Art Supplies.

Caregivers and immediate family members are welcome to join in!

Ideal for children and youth ages 3 - 18.
