TENSE is the first collaborative project presented by Helga Jakobson and Matea Radic. It is an animation and projection mapping installation, highlighting and exploring the meeting point of two walls. The animation centers around the idea of tension - surface tension, tension in the sense of pressure, emotional tension between beings, bodily/physical tension and grammatical tense, amongst other types of tensions. Frames crash into and splatter between one another, they ignore and tease one another; truly exploring the physical divide and meeting point of the corner.

This event is free.

Helga Jakobson and Matea Radic

Matea Radic is an artist and animator living in Winnipeg, MB. Her drawings are filled with dark humour, soft bodies and fast lines. Her work explores themes of suppressed trauma, reconciliation and the the idea of home. She is a hopeful cynic. Helga Jakobson’s practice involves exploring conditions of limbo, with a focus on death, time and ephemerality. Most recently this has taken form through building digital interfaces, tools and instruments used to explore, amplify and reflect the barely visible, tangible or audible, while expressing the resonance and relationship between people, plants, and organic matter.
