I don’t want to write! I wouldn’t know where to start! I just don’t have any ideas. My imagination only goes as far as what to have for dinner tonight!

Where have I heard those words before? Oh yes, I said them and many more similar phrases. And here I am. A member of the Westbank Writers’ Group and a published author. Writing has become a part of my life, as new ideas flow. And because of this creative spark I feel more vibrant, healthy and enthusiastic about life.

Come and visit with us. Chat with our members and discover our stories. What drew us to write? When did we begin? What is it doing for us, now?

Take part in some fun activities to uncover the latent author inside of you. From children to grandparents. We’d love to see you all.

We will showcase some of our published works. Take you through the process from an idea to writing it down then on to publishing and distribution.

There are many, many reasons people write. The story inside just has to come out! My family history mustn’t be lost, the next generation deserves to know what came before. I want to make money from magazine publishing. I feel so strongly about a social or political issue. And many more. Come chat with us. We’ve tried it all and are still trying.

Our group has been in existence for about three years, writing, critiquing, improving and having fun doing it. And so we decided to share our love of writing with the public through the Culture Days gathering at the Rotary Centre for the Arts.
