Jeff Sutherland

Still Life, is a memoir written by Dr. Jeff Sutherland. It chronicles his life with ALS and the immense grief experienced following the loss of his oldest son and his son’s girlfriend in a freak kayak accident. Still Life, is a book about living within the extreme confines of a paralyzing disease yet still possessing the active and inquiring mind of a family physician he once was. It is also an intimate look inside an acutely grieving mind, especially poignant from the perspective of a person living with a terminal disease. This is not a typical memoir. Using his eye tracking computer, the only communication method at his disposal, Jeff weaves insights throughout his story that will help anyone on the path towards resilience.
