About

Ever wondered how a jeweler brings their ideas into reality? Witness multidisciplinary Kwakwaka’wakw artist Agnes Seaweed Wisden at work on the development of new silver jewelry designs in this live demonstration. Agnes holds a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and has apprenticed with Alano Edzerza, Beau Dick, Luke Parnell, and her family of carvers, the Seaweed Brothers. Agnes gains her inspiration from the ocean and coastal forests, and often can be found exploring in her wetsuit, kayak, or surfboard. She also works towards community initiatives to give other First Nations people the opportunity to gain outdoor skills to explore their traditional territories.
