Admission to the museum and activities during Culture Days is by donation! The Nanaimo Museum, in beautiful and historic downtown Nanaimo on Snuneymuxw territory is excited to welcome you back this Fall. Come and explore our feature exhibit: "From the Vault" which features a selection of rarely seen artifacts and photos from the museum collection, chosen by members of the Nanaimo Museum team. Bring the family and embark on a hunt throughout the exhibit to decode clues, break the ciphers and solve a mystery. After October 4th the museum will also be decorated for Halloween and guests can enjoy some spooky tales from our past. Don't forget to check out the historical walking tour app "On This Spot" for more Nanaimo history (@on.this.spot). If you participate in their Then/Now photo contest you can pick up a free photo print here at the museum! The Nanaimo Museum is responding to all Public Health Orders and has policies and procedures in place to keep everyone safe. Masks are mandatory for guests and staff. There are handwashing facilities and hand sanitizer available and we have increased our daily cleaning and disinfecting throughout the facility. We continue to encourage social distancing and ask that you do not visit if you’re experiencing and cold, flu, or COVID symptoms. We continue to support our staff in being able to stay home when experiencing symptoms. The Nanaimo Museum is well ventilated and we are continually monitoring all public health orders, industry best practices, and Worksafe regulations.
