1000 Miles Apart Conference: Carole Epp Artist TalkAlberta College of Art and Design (Stanford Perrott Lecture Theatre) Calgary, Alberta
Visual Arts, Crafts — Talks and Discussion
Carole obtained her graduate degree from the Australian National University in 2005 and currently lives in Saskatoon, creating both functional objects and a line of figurative sculpture. She has been the editor of Musing about Mud for over a decade, has brought together groups like Make and Do ceramics to highlight the wealth of creative ceramics here in Canada and has traveled to teach workshops, lecture and exhibit internationally.
Her work flows between functional and sculptural ceramics, touching on themes of innocence, love and whimsy, inspired by her young children, to objects that create dialogue or are politically or socially charged; statements regarding contemporary society, mass consumption, media propaganda and global events.
