Necessary Arts Company - Paintings by Meredith BlackmoreThe Walkway Guelph, Ontario
Visual Arts — Other
Meredith Blackmore paints portraits of people and things. Always “drawn” to the arts, she remembers sketching her peers while pursuing her first passion, dance, at The National Ballet School. She was introduced to the world of portraiture by a teenage summer job at Canada’s Wonderland. She studied printmaking, sculpture, and video at the University of Guelph and has been making figurative paintings and accepting diverse portrait commissions for 15 years.
Meredith Blackmore is also an art workshop leader. She has taught all ages in many locations: from British Columbia to Bogotá, Colombia. In 2014, Meredith joined Necessary Arts in Guelph to extend her studio practice and established STUDIOHERE in Fergus as a home-base for her workshops.

We're a place where you can come to work on your creative projects. Looking to use a big table, borrow a tool or a sewing machine? Looking for some advice or creative input, another way to accomplish your goal? Each of us involved with the studio has our own separate art or design practice. That means, schedules willing, that we'll be in the studio most days making stuff. Come visit.
