Indigenous people in this area have harvested, and work with natural materials since time immemorial. This activity will give you a tactile experience working with the inner cedar bark.

Allison Burns Joseph traditionally named, Cheximiya, has been weaving for over 10 years and has a passion to teach. Generally working with wool creating regalia and display items she is able to transfer her knowledge into working with cedar. Jacqueline West, traditionally named Yat'se maat, was raised in North Vancouver, BC. She is a proud member of the Squamish Nation. She enjoys creating with a variety of mediums. Her core values of creating art consist of maintaining traditional indigenous teachings.
