Culture Days @ TPL: BROTHER NEIL LIVEToronto Public Library: S. Walter Stewart Library East York, Ontario
Music — Talks and Discussion
Culture Days @ the Library is a city-wide celebration of arts and culture taking place at various Toronto Public Library branches.
The new Brother Neil album "Away Avenue Away" is an exploration into soul music, with a premium on vibe. Horns and subtle full band arrangements careen over the tunes, setting an impressive foundation for the classic songwriting. It's a project that Neil laboured over with his childhood friend and music partner Mike Whaling for two years.
Neil will be playing his compositions and sharing his story about how and why he continues to write and perform music.

"The always bewitching mix of meandering acoustic plucking and aching brown-eyed soul is a winning combination no matter which way you spin it. Brother Neil has this craft nailed, and he takes his time letting listeners know it. Songs meander from Sunday-morning-love-confessional to spring-in-your-step adventure tunes. Expertly played, with uncommon chord changes to make it that much more exciting." -- Shannon Duvall, Youbloom L.A, 2016
