Chinese Calligraphy WorkshopHalton Hills Library and Cultural Centre, Studio Georgetown, Ontario
Multicultural, Literature and Spoken Word — Hands-On Activity
Chinese calligraphy is above all an art and a discipline that leads to calmness, concentration, agility, goodness, beauty, and harmony in all aspects of life. It is a discipline for all disciplines—poets, scholars, painters, and martial artists—who all practice calligraphy as a way to cultivate mental concentration and character. On Culture Days, join Halton Hills Chinese Association for a hands-on calligraphy workshop where you’ll explore the Chinese tradition, culture, heritage and history, learn to write Chinese characters with a brush and create your own work to take home.
*New! Kids activities will also be available during the workshop. Children can enjoy Chinese traditional paper cutting, sticker tattoos, bilingual name writing and games.
