Painting the Heartbeat of the CityRegina, Saskatchewan
Visual Arts, Other — Collective Creation, Hands-On Activity
Bring your art supplies; even a pen and lined paper will do! Join artists of the Plein Air Painters of Regina Group as they capture the "Heartbeat of Our City"; Wascana Park en plein air. Plein air painting (in the open air) was made popular by French Impressionists and our own Canadian Group of Seven. Observe or participate in a large collaborative art piece inspired by the rhythms of varied family and sporting activities taking place in our oasis, our city park. The completed art piece will be auctioned in support of a charity to be announced. Watch for details here and on the event link below.

Nikki's Portraits of Childhood
In 2017 Nikki Jacquin, a Sask. Visual Artists began an organic Facebook group called the Plein Air Painters of Regina. This group meets weekly for FREE en plein air (in the open air and from life) painting sessions. Meetings are held at various locations in and around Regina. This group was an extension of her business http://www.nikkisportraits.com and the international painting tours she organizes to Cuba and France. Everyone is welcome to join the group no matter their artistic experience.
