Flamenco beats: Intro to hand clapping and body percussion

Come and explore the fun of flamenco music by joining this introductory workshop on body percussion and hand clapping in flamenco. No instrument needed, just you and your love for rhythm. Lina Kazan, co-founder and principal dancer and instructor of Flamenco Borealis ( enjoys a history of performance and training in flamenco dance and rhythm both in Spain and Canada. Lina will introduce the participants to the main rhythmic structures of flamenco and will be teaching hand clapping techniques. Participants will be creating percussive sounds through clapping and other body percussion techniques. This is a 2 day event, attendance is limited to 20 participants and arrival on time is important for participating.

Flamenco Borealis

Flamenco Borealis is a Canadian based Flamenco music and dance company dedicated to promoting this art form by staging high quality music and dance performances and organizing educational programs in order to benefit both its artist members and the wider community. The workshop will be presented by Lina Kazan, co-founder, principal dancer and dance instructor of Flamenco Borealis. Lina enjoys a long history of Flamenco training and is a very active performer.
