Film or Video, Multi/Interdisciplinary — Hands-On Activity, Collective Creation
Prince George co-ambassadors, Michael Kast and Lynette La Fontaine, will be sharing and combining their passion for art and healing by having a street party! Michael will be facilitating a guerilla graffiti project, as well as digitally capturing the participants and event. Lynette will be leading a beading workshop to create orange shirt lapels in order to continue the awareness and damaging legacy of residential schools in Canada in the era of Truth and Reconciliation. Tying into the National Cultural Day theme of OnBeat, they will be including drumming performances, jam sessions and mashups!

Co-Ambassadors Lynette and Michael
Michael Kast and Lynette La Fontaine are this year's artist in residence with Studio 2880. Michael works in fine art photography, acrylic painting, design, theatre, and radio broadcasting. Michael is primarily self-taught but has studied photography while living in Toronto. Lynette is an emerging Métis visual artist with roots in Northern Saskatchewan and the Red River Valley. With the intent to honour these connections, she utilizes her preferred mediums of traditional and contemporary beadwork, mixed media, acrylic painting and fabrics.
