St. Saviour’s Anglican Pro-Cathedral, located at the corner of Silica and Ward Streets in Nelson, will be open for heritage tours from 12 p.m.to 4 pm on Friday September 28 and Saturday September 29. The Church is a designated Heritage building built in 1898, and rebuilt in 1929, after a disastrous fire. In addition to beautiful carved wood architectural highlights, the Church contains numerous memorial stained glass windows and plaques. The stained glass windows are unique and some of the best examples of church stained glass in the Kootenays. Interpretive tour guides will be available to conduct tours and answer questions.
