Art openings at venues across downtown Nelson. Artists will be present at most venues from 7pm-9pm (some exceptions apply). This is opening night for art exhibitions - if you can't make it to all of them (and you probably won't!) hang on to your map and take the rest in over the following weeks. Confirmed Venues : Strutters Boutique, Mountain Waters Spa, Booksmyth, Craft Connection, John Ward Fine Coffee, Cafe Momento, Cantina Del Centro, Kootenay Co-op, Backroads Brewing Co, Cotton Creek Clothing, Touchstones Nelson, West Kootenay teacher Education Program (UBC), and Number 6 Coffee. Check our facebook page for a starting point and once there you will find handbills with maps to guide you around town. A great place to start is Touchstones Nelson Museum of Art & History who will host a pre-crawl soiree from 5pm-7pm. Take your time at Touchstones to check out new exhibitions in both galleries, including the Members' Show & Sale in Gallery B. Then make your way to the venues of your choice including Strutters Boutique, Mountain Waters Spa, Booksmyth, Craft Connection, John Ward Fine Coffee, Cafe Momento, Cantina Del Centro, Kootenay Co-op, Backroads Brewing Co, Cotton Creek Clothing, Touchstones Nelson, West Kootenay teacher Education Program (UBC), and Number 6 Coffee.
Blue Night Nelson
Blue Night is a community based arts event that takes many forms, but mostly it's a sporadic art event featuring visual art and often live music, dance, performance art, and spoken word at venues across downtown Nelson. You're invited to cruise the streets and take in the work of local and area artists hosting receptions at a variety of businesses including coffee houses, microbreweries, clothing stores, and galleries.
