"Seascapes" Community Art Installation by Sarah Mousseau

"Seascapes" Community Art Installation by Sarah Mousseau

Guelph, Ontario

Crafts — Collective Creation, Excursion

Local mixed-media artist, Sarah Mousseau was the 2017 RBC Market Mornings Artist.

The Market Mornings program, generously sponsored by RBC Royal Bank, aims to animate public space by connecting artists with the community.

Sarah led four out-door art-making activities this August at Guelph Farmers’ Market to create the art that will make up her Seascapes installation.

Participants worked together to build whimsical sea creatures out of re-purposed materials.

The final installation will create a magical underwater garden where octopus tentacles hang low, crustaceans crawl through the grass, schools of fish flutter in the breeze, and colourful coral crawls up the trunks of the trees.
