3 D Felting, The Hacky Sac - Weyburn School Workshops

This workshop is taught by Melanie Monique Rose, a visual artist from Regina. She worked as a Gallery Facilitator at the Mackenzie Art Gallery for 8 years. She assisted with Urban Outreach and Bridging Programs and in 2014 served as Artist in Residence at the Mackenzie. She was awarded a summer artist residency through Sakewewak Artists' Collective, the University of Regina and the First Nations University of Canada. Her art is influenced by her prairie upbringing and her connections with both her Metis and Ukrainian heritage. In this workshop, the participants will learn the basics of 3D wet felting and will make a wool felted hacky sac. Grades 4 to 6 will get to learn an new art form.
