Visual Arts — Virtual Activity, Hands-On Activity
The Emotional Garbage Disposal is an established and ongoing project that takes anonymous confessions from participants and at a later date recycles them into various art forms from art installations to performance pieces. Culture Days participants will anonymously capture and throw away their emotional garbage on colourful paper and our artists will transform our communities collective trash intro treasure. A paper maché sculpture will be displayed using past emotional garbage from our community events.The St. Catharines Central Library will be hosting the unit Sunday, October 1st between 1:30pm - 5pm in the main foyer.

The Emotional Garbage Disposal unit will be placed in the main foyer of the St. Catharines Public Library - Central Branch. Parking lot access from Carlisle St.
A professional artist for 9 years, Melody Sargent has participated in and organized several community art projects. Melody also has a background in technology and user experiences which she likes to combine frequently in her projects. Melody also works in international development providing technology and fundraising support around the world. This project's intent is to create an unbiased and inclusive way to bring our community together and show that we all share the same emotional garbage as one community.
