Music — Hands-On Activity, Collective Creation
Listen to the New Horizons Band of York Region and then
- “Paint with the Colours of the Band”: choose which instruments will perform a given passage;
- “You’ve Got Rhythm”: create and perform rhythmic patterns including a STOMP;
- “The Long & Short of It” - “The Lows & Highs of It”: conduct the band in creating improvised compositions by directing long & short notes AND low and high notes through dramatic gesturing. Dancing highly encouraged;
- “Test Drive a Band Instrument”: explore how to make sounds and music on many concert band instruments.
This program is for adults.
