Stories, painting, glass art, music, felting and more?! Vernon has a great line-up of activities this Culture Days, and everything is free so why not get out there with the whole family and support your local arts and culture community? I'm especially excited for the "Stories of the Past" opening reception on Friday night. There will be free food and drinks from the incredible Okanagan Spirits, not to mention amazing stories from local seniors transformed into artwork. Come and witness this great collaboration of art, stories, and community. I can promise you, it will be nothing but fun. I personally will be attending all of the events listed here in my schedule - can't wait to see you there!

Introducing Culture Days to Smithers! 2016 will be the first year that Smithers is taking part in Culture Days and a lot is happening. On Friday, NWCC will be hosting an Arnica Salve making workshop followed by a traditional luncheon of Swedish Deer meatballs, BBQ salmon and Wild Huckleberry Sauce. Later on, Lori Knorr will be hosting a needle felting workshop at Studio 8 in the Central Park Building. On Saturday, the big event is at Bovil square with story telling from local First Nations and a group felting project culminating with music from the Valley Youth Fiddlers and Theresa Mohr. The part I am especially thrilled to be a part of is when we get to felt by dancing! Felting with our feet will be so fun. Come out and join in!
