Culture Days and National Broadcast Partner CTV (Bell Media) invited Canadian journalism and media students to participate in a Student Reporter and Media Internship program during the Annual National Congress on Culture in Edmonton, Alberta on May 7 and 8, 2015. Five lucky students participated in this innovative program including a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the CTV Newsroom in Winnipeg and a once-in-lifetime mentoring session with Marci Ien, co-host of CTV's Canada AM.

When I first applied for the internship as a CTV/Culture Days Student Reporter I knew that it would be a great experience to have on my CV and I believed it would help me see the various career paths that I could explore as a communication major. However, I could not have imagined the profound effect the internship would have on me. I did not just create networks; I built long lasting relationships. I did not just see possible career paths; I found a career path. I did not just acquire knowledge; I gained wisdom. I was only able to do this because each and every one of the individuals involved in the CTV/Culture Days internship program went above and beyond the bare minimum. Thank you.
