In March, we held two free webinars open to professional and community-based orchestras, choirs, bands and ensembles across the province. Hosted in partnership with Orchestras Canada and Choirs Ontario, the webinars provided information about how musical groups can participate in Ontario Culture Days’ fifth birthday project Conduct Us.
Missed the webinars? We are pleased to share an excerpt of the recorded presentation. Watch the presentation to find out more about how your musical group can get involved.
About Conduct Us
Who hasn’t waved their arms dramatically along to a symphony playing on the radio? Bring your classical music fantasy to life! In celebration of Culture Days’ 5th anniversary, we will be collaborating with professional and amateur orchestras, big bands and choirs to remount Conduct Us in dozens of communities across Ontario. The public are invited to step up to the podium and pick up the baton for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to lead a live ensemble. A simple but powerful arts education activity, Conduct Us will be a thrilling experience for all ages.
Conduct Us is the brainchild of Improv Everywhere, a New York City-based collective that causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of participants.
