Free Documentary Showing: 5 Short Art FilmsVancouver, British Columbia
Film or Video — Behind-the-scenes
CMC BC’s Legacy Composer Film Series celebrates the first generation of composers to write Western concert music on the West Coast of Canada. Five short art films focus on five BC Legacy Composers: Murray Adaskin, Barbara Pentland, Rudolf Komorous, Jean Coulthard, and Elliot Weisgarber. Each of them contributed something unique, new, and remarkable to the nation’s cultural mosaic, both through their body of work and the living legacy of students they inspired. Produced and directed by Award-winning filmmaker John Bolton, each film features a performance of a signature work of music and range in length from just over eight to fourteen minutes.
