Call for Submission for

CMCWF 2019

Time: August 1 - September 10, 2019

Theme: good deeds, big or small

What to Create: anything related with “good deeds”, any story, any person, or write about a place, movie, food, sport, culture, customs, traditions, etc.

New invention, new technology, digital art, creative poems, essays, short stories, drama, music, dances, plays, paintings, drawing, hand-crafts, and whatever you name are all encouraged.

Free submission, each writer will get a gift book as appreciation; must be original; one submission each; each around 500 words; submit through http://www.wsisc.com/contest or email [email protected].

Selected 30 creative works will be shared in various languages at the festival.

This event is free to public, cross-cultural learning and understanding groups and individuals, elders and youth (above age 5), families and kids, military and veterans, immigrants and refugees, Indigenous, people with disabilities, poets and writers, artists and entrepreneurs, or anyone who is passionate about creative works are all welcome.

It’s a good opportunity to:

• Connect people with a wide range of interests, backgrounds and experiences;

• Increase Sense of belonging and responsibility to our communities;

• Better understanding for groups and individuals with variation in race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, language, religion, geographical area and more;

• Share knowledge and develop grassroots creativity and leadership skills;

• Celebrate diversity and Canadian cultures, traditions, and customs;

• Appreciate the professionals and volunteers are delegated in community capacity building.

WS Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society (WSIMSS) is a non-profit organization and a volunteer-based group. Over the past 10 years it has been providing immigrant and refugee settlement services including language and computer training, and intercultural services including planning, organizing and hosting cross-cultural events, workshops, seminars, conferences, book launches, Discover World Culture series and more to create awareness, understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism, to build happier families, healthier communities and foster intercultural harmony.
